Wilderness Areas

Elizabeth Lake, Selway Bitterroot Wilderness Area, Idaho
Idaho has several designated wilderness areas. The only other state with more wilderness area than Idaho, is Alaska. A wilderness area is land that has been set aside by the government. It can not be enhanced or changed by man. It is to remain as nature intended it to be. The Wilderness Act of 1964 was passed to preserve designated areas for future generations.
